You might have heard about the old saying don’t put all eggs in one basket. If you ask an investor he might tell you to invest the money in different options like stocks, CDs, and bonds. The answer for protecting your online business is to diversify into different fields. By that way if any catastrophe happens to you still will survive.Â
So how do you apply that to your online business? Say suppose you are a power seller in eBay, and you supplier stopped supplying with products then you products source is stopped or your market has a slow dying trend then you need to find another way to sustain your income level. It can also happen if you are running a big website with tons of search engine visitors all of a sudden the web host is down or the search engine algorithm changes and your website ranking dropped substantially what will you do?Â
Are you prepared to this online disaster and do you have a backup plan. Here are few tips which can help in having peace of mind and also enjoy making money online regularly.Â
1) Create more than one website that can generate money for you. I don’t mean to create 100′s of websites but atleast half a dozen website out of them at least 2-3 should be flagship website and other’s can be small ones which can run in auto pilot or the ones require less maintenance.Â
2) Invest your online revenue to offline ventures as well. This can help you sustain in the eventuality of big online disasters.Â
3) Have a backup of all your files in case of natural disasters or web host failure.Â
4) Share the password and username of all your accounts with you spouse or someone who you can trust.Â
5) If you are into dropshipping or auctioning have more suppliers for your products if one person stops delivering other suppliers will help you.Â
6) Don’t depend on only one employee or outsource partners, If you have the skills to do it, then it is fine or educates your other employees on doing the stuffs which need to run your online business. Â
7) Have enough cash flow so that in the event of financial or online disaster you can survive and go through that bad phrase and still build your online business from scratch.Â
My inspiration to write this blog posts came from the events me and my other online marketers came across in the last few months.
