21 Tips if you are struggling with your Affiliate Marketing through PPC?

Posted by | Posted in Affiliate Marketing, Pay Per Click | Posted on 09-11-2007

Targeted traffic is key to any affiliate marketing success. Pay Per Click allows you to do that, But several affiliate marketers fail this business model why? There are several factors contributing for your failure. I have created a list of things which you need to follow if you are struggling.

1) Good Cash Flow – If you have limited cash flow you might struggle with your Affiliate PPC campaign. I would recommend having a certain budget just for PPC.

2) Bad Keyword Research – If you keyword research is not done properly you will face problem. Keyword is the foundation for any PPC campaign. Learn how to do keyword research from experts and master yourself.

3) Non Attractive Ads- If you ad copy is not attractive to the visitors, it won’t get click, you would be loaded with impression but no clicks will hurt your Click through rate.

4) Increase Daily Budget – Have a good amount for your Daily budget depending upon your cost per click, because if you have a small budget for a higher cost per click you won’t get enough clicks, a healthy PPC campaign should get at least 100-200 clicks per day to sale.

5) Eliminate Negative keywords – negative keywords can ruin your PPC campaign, Identifying negative keywords is a hilarious task, watch your Web stats daily and add the negative keywords which is costing you money.

6) Remove the non converting keywords – If some of your keywords is getting good click through rate (CTR) but no conversion then that is not a good PPC keywords.

7) Multiple landing pages – Don’t have just one landing page create multiple landing pages and see who they are doing? And adopt the one which converts better.

8) Check the visitors bounce rate – going through your web analytics daily will help you to identify how much time each visitor is spending on your site if they are leaving at 0 seconds then you are wasting lot of money.

9) Using Position preference – If you have ever check the Google SERPs heat map the maximum clicks you get is at the top 2-3 spot if you PPC ads is not showing up there then you are not getting potential customers. Google Adwords allows you to have a position preference use that.

10) Give some time to your campaign to grow – PPC advertisings is not like sowing seeds today and reaping tomorrow, you need to give some time to grow your campaign for a while at least couple of months.

11)Don’t try too many niches – Most of the time affiliate marketer fail especially newbie’s try to get into different niches. Stick to one niche until you start making profit and create a methodology. Once you are successful you can leverage that same methodology to other niches which you want to start.

12) Change your Ad copy after few weeks – Once your campaign have reach couple of weeks and still struggling tweak your ads little bit may be a small change which can increase you click through rate.

13) Visit Google Adwords blog – Make it as a point to visit Google Adwords blog almost every day, if you have not been there go to http://adwords.blogspot.com. So that you can keep yourself updated on the changes to the Google Adwords system.

14) Pause & resuming your campaign – When you find your campaign is doing bad on certain days most of the affiliate marketers advertisers pause their campaign for few days or weeks which won’t help you to analysis you campaign. This is not a good strategy to follow.

15) Focus on converting keyword phrases – If you are not focusing on keywords which are converting and getting your sales you will soon leave more money on the table. Widening your most performing keywords and create separate ads groups based on that.

16)Contacting your Affiliate Manager – How many of the affiliate marketers have contacted their affiliate manger in a month. I try to keep in touch with them almost every day for different reason. Contacting affiliate mangers can help you a lot to know about your campaign and understand about the products you are promoting.

17)Placing conversation code on Thank you page – Promoting affiliate products through Pay Per Click is all about tracking and calculation. Tell your affiliate manager to place your conversion code on the merchant’s thank you page.

18)Try the Product yourself – Before you start promoting a merchants affiliate product have you tried it before. Trying the product yourself is a wise thing because it will show how your customers will go through the process. If the website has long checkout process then you will loose money on your campaign.

19)Watch out for other promoters in your niche – Before promoting the product watch out for other promoters in your niche how they are promoting and how long they are promoting, if they are surviving their campaign then they are making money so it is a profitable niche.

20)Try different Pay per click engine – If you’re not having a successful campaign in certain pay per click engine then try different PPC websites. Try Yahoo, MSN, 7Search, MIVA and others.

21)The last and the final one is Determination – If you are determined that you are going to succeed in Affiliate Marketing through PPC then set goals and just focus to achieve that.

I was able to put up these tips after reading some of the most successful affiliate marketers like Amit Mehta from SuperAffiliateMindset.com, Zac Johnson from Zacjohnson.com, Derek Beau from derekbeau.com to name a few.

Motivation is key to keep yourself posting on to your blog

Posted by | Posted in Blogging | Posted on 06-11-2007

Are you motivated on posting often and regularly on to your blog every day? If you want to be a successful in blogging and make money online you need to be motivated by all means. Most successful bloggers keep themselves motivate every time and inspire themselves on writing interesting posts and keep going. Motivation is key for all your success it gives drive and inspires to take action and enthusiasm to blog. Motivation spurs you to blog when things are really getting tough. As we all know you need to keep posting to bring back your readers or increase RSS feeds.

I have just break down few point which you need to keep in minds to keep motivated

1)     Break big goals into smaller ones and reward yourself. Keep a goal like 5 posts a week and keep doing that, also reward yourself once you accomplish this goal.

2) When you write a post ask your readers to put comments about your posts and share their feedback as blog posts. Ask them what they want to hear from you?

3 ) Stock up the blog posts for days where you don’t have the energy to write or day where you don’t have time. This stock blog posts which you have written will help you during that period.

4)  Set yourself a time when to blog. Give it a time especially in the morning when you are fresh or at night when your kids are sleeping and you won’t get disturbed. Make that a regular schedule for writing blog posts.

5) Keep a notepad every time when an idea pops up in your mind not it down, it may be while you drive or wherever, keeping note of the idea on which you want keeps you motivated.

6)  Make blogging as a fun, enjoy your blogging, take blogging as an entertainment not that you are forced to do this job. If you take blogging in a positive mind weather you reader like it or not, make sure you enjoy blogging.

7)  Keep acknowledging your blog how it transformed your life and your daily time investment and commitment, that has changed your life. Celebrate your blogs success at every stage this is a good motivation factor.

8)  Another way to get inspired is to read other blogs, I got inspired to write this blog posts from blogging tips, There Ram Karthik wrote an interesting blog post called  6 ways to get new content ideas. So reading other blog posts and visiting forums can inspire you to write.

Each and every blogger has your own ways to get motivated. Also share that with other bloggers so that they can get motivated. Put your thoughts and insight about getting inspired in the comments.

Is Google Page Rank Dead? Or still alive

Posted by | Posted in Google Search | Posted on 03-11-2007

Recently, there where tons of blog posts over the internet about the Google Page Rank Update. The huge outcry about the Google’s PR update was from bloggers. Some of the top bloggers like Johnchow.com, problogger.net and copybloggers.com and many major website where all hit by this update. Page Rank popularity became popular in the last few years among Search Engine Optimization and Marketing professional because they understood a website Page Rank can bring their website higher on top of search engine ranking. These also create a multi-million dollar link selling industry. Since PR is closely connected to link popularity of a website a new industry started to involve which was known as Text link brokers.
With this recent PR update we all have to learn a lesson that gaining PR through fictitious ways and means like selling and buying links can hurt your website natural growth. We all try to promote our website to gain maximum traffic for conversion and this should be our goal. PR will build naturally. For example my blog thomsonchemmanoor.com was started in May2007 to that old but I started building links naturally. It gains a PR of 3 right now. I don’t have any plans to selling or buy links for this site, I am sure with my effort by posting informative and valuable content on affiliate marketing, blogging, expired domain information, search engine optimization and contextual advertisement which is the theme of this blog will gain natural links and PR.

This should be the strategy for any blog or a website. By the way my title is about Google Page Rank is dead or still alive? The answer is PR is still very much alive if you do it in a natural way, PR shows authority of a webpage not just a green line on a toolbar. If you are trying to game the PR algorithm then for those it is dead. Right now the website which has lowered Page Rank their traffic from Google still remains the same.
